SLS – selective laser sintering

Procedure description

Fusing of plastic powder using laser radiation
Layer-by-Layer construction made from thermoplastic powder
Layer thickness usually 0.1 mm
Construction space: 300 x 350 x 400 mm

Technical data

  • Procedure: Selective Laser Sintering
  • Material: DuraForm PA [PA12], DuraForm GF [PA12+30%GB], Alumide [PA12+30%Al], TPU, DuraFormFlex ohne Infiltration, DuraFormFlex Infiltration mit Silikon, DuraFormFlex Infiltration mit PU, PP40.

Advantages

  • Wide range of materials such as polyamides (filled/unfilled), PP, TPU, TPE
  • Functional components with chemical resistance, high temperature resistance, and very good mechanical and technological properties
  • Finishing generally possible (surface finish, infiltration, painting etc.)
  • Production tolerance +/-0.3% (absolute +/-0.3 mm)

Disadvantages

  • Component surfaces not smooth (rough)
  • Production tolerances are greater than for SLA process
  • Production times are generally longer than for SLA process
