RAPID MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE IN THE HEART OF GERMANY

rpm rapid product manufacturing GmbH was founded to fill a growing need for reliable additive manufacturing production partners. Over the years, we have added 11 other technologies, each driven by the request from customers for plastic parts, produced, with technical excellence.

The charm of working with rpm is short pathways to competent technical recommendations, design advice to optimize for production and accurate quotations in 24-72 hours. When customers choose rpm, they are selecting for reliability and competence.

A FOCUS ON GROWTH DRIVEN BY SERIES ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING

Alongside our existing competence in small and specialty series plastic casting, rpm is investing in expanding its digital factory. The past few years have seen technology and material advances that broadened the end-use applications for additive manufactured parts. These changes can be felt in both our
DLS (digital light synthesis) and SLS (selective laser sintering) business units. rpm is in a unique position to bring that opportunity into reality. On one hand, we have 24+ years of experience with additive manufacturing of technically accurate, challenging parts. On the other hand, we have a project management, quality assurance and logistic infrastructure for producing validated small series parts. In the coming years, rpm will expand our footprint as innovators and leaders in series additive manufacturing.

COMPANY FOCUS ON INDUSTRIAL PLASTIC PARTS

Ten years ago, rpm made the decision to focus on manufacturing plastic parts. This clarity allows us develop a specific expertise. We count ourselves as thought leaders when it comes to lattice generation and series optimization of parts for additive manufacturing in DLS, working with specialty materials in SLS like PP, TPU, PA6 and PA6 MF and small series casting (NylonMold™) with PA6, PA6 GF30 and PA6 CF10.

rpm additionally focuses on industrial or technical plastic parts. From small adaptors with internal channeling to floor boards for trucks, we cover the full spectrum of parts. Our team includes engineers and production planners that work directly from technical specifications to produce parts with reliable quality even in small batches. We have been thinking in small-scale series for over two decades and that is the primary focus of rpm for the decades to come.

RELIABLE QUALITY AND DEPENDABLE DELIVERY CYCLES

rpm proudly carries the ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality. Each process is tracked and documented to a successful delivery. All projects are handled by both a key account manager and someone from our technical or project management team. We pride ourselves on an on-time delivery rate of over 96%.

It is important to work with a team you can trust when adding external suppliers into existing supply chains. That is the partnership that you enter when you choose to work with rpm.

OUR COMPANY VALUES LONG TERM PRODUCTION PARTNERSHIPS

rpm focuses on developing long term partnerships. We build relationships based on competent advice, innovation in partnership and close attention to detail. We often work with the same customer teams for decades because they see the value in having an experienced partner by their side.

Our customers include companies that are pushing the boundaries of possible. In this context, they rely on rpm to keep design data, intellectual property and production development within the context of an NDA. We operate to the stringent TISAX standard, which goes above the standards set under ISO 27001.

TRAINING THE NEXT GENERATION FOR RAPID MANUFACTURING

Working at the edge of possibility often means that the production specialists we need aren’t available on the market. We are proud to have a 20% training rate for new talent. Of that group, more than 50% join rpm as employees after their three-year program. That allows us to build the “workforce of the future”, one that understands additive manufacturing, plastic casting and where the two cross paths.

TRUSTED SUPPLIERS FOR LEADING COMPANIES AND SUPPLIERS ACROSS EUROPE

Since day one, rpm has produced parts at high quality levels for top companies and tier suppliers across Germany and Europe. We are production partners for a wide variety of leading companies from automotive, industrial goods, mobility and household products. Driven by our adoption of DLS technology, rpm parts are also increasingly found in consumer goods, automation and robotics applications.

Our roots in the automotive industry give every customer access to a stringent quality assurance process, high data security standards and tightly tracked delivery cycles for dependable production of technical prototypes and end-use parts.

Dr. Jörg Gerken, Technical Director at rpm

Jörg Gerken,
Technical Director

Dr. Jörg Gerken is cofounder and technical director for rpm. In 1997 he and Dr. Kreutzburg launched rpm with the SLS (Select Laser Sintering) technology for rapid and functional plastic prototypes and earned their place among the pioneers of 3D Printing. The expansion into 11 other production technologies including the landmark NylonMold™ process casting PA6 into silicon forms has all been under his careful wing. Dr. Gerken brings a hunger for problem solving and attention to detail into rpm. That combination has made the rpm factory a reliable supplier to many of the biggest producers in Europe. This combination has made the modern rpm industrial factory into a reliable supplier to many of the largest companies in Europe.

Klaus Kreutzburg,
Financial Director

Before founding rpm, Dr. Klaus Kreutzburg worked together with Dr. Gerken for more than 5 years in additive manufacturing. At rpm, his responsibilities include the operational and commercial aspects. His thorough and financially balanced approach to process development, contract fulfillment and administrative handling has been instrumental in establishing rpm as a modern industrial factory. For the coordination, evaluation and deployment of the various prototype technologies he brings more than 20 years of professional knowledge and technical expertise as a valued decision maker.

Claus Thomy,
Sales Director

Dr. Claus Thomy joined rpm in 2020 to add an expertise in technical sales of Dr. Claus Thomy joined rpm in 2020 to contribute his proven expertise in sales of technically challenging projects in industries outside the automotive industry. He has more than 10 years of experience in the development of laser technologies and additive manufacturing, as well as in-depth experience in international sales, business development and corporate management. He brings a strong engineering mindset, shaped by serving diverse industries, and a passion for guiding customers to the optimal solution. Dr. Thomy’s responsibilities include advancing and diversifying rpm’s activities from modern industrial manufacturing for small batches to special series of plastic components across rpm’s technology portfolio.
